Are you an entrepreneur of a small company with a myriad of activities marked on your To-Do list. But where to start?

You are rightly afraid to spend time in activities that could generate a small return on investment and you don’t know how to make up your mind.

Your goal is to find as many people as possible who are interested in your business and maximize your investment. But how do you do it?

Web marketing is the answer and can allow you to make the quantum leap you’ve been waiting for for a long time.

What is web marketing?

Web marketing identifies the operations of promoting an activity, via the internet. It involves the use of social media, search engines (Google, Youtube, etc.), blogs and websites, videos and e-mail.

It is nothing more than the web version of traditional marketing, where flyers, billboards, advertisements in newspapers and telephone directories are replaced by online activities over which it is possible to have greater control and optimize the cost.

Every day, at all times, millions of people use the internet, generating huge opportunities to advertise your product.

What are the benefits of web marketing?

I want to give you at least 5 good reasons. Read below.

1 – Web marketing is convenient

Compared to other forms of advertising, such as radio, television or the press, internet ads cost at least a third less, allowing them to reach a much wider audience. Significant results can be achieved with the right plan to help identify the desired audience.

2 – Web marketing is focused

Few other advertising channels allow to address target audience in such a targeted manner. With web marketing campaigns you can reach whoever you want but above all, reach them in the places that are most congenial to your audience / sector.

3 – With web marketing you can build a relationship with your client.

If done well, web marketing creates real value for your customer by providing answers and satisfying needs. Compared to other forms of marketing that are annoying and based on a logic of interruption, web marketing accompanies users towards your product by building a relationship and encouraging loyalty.

4 – You can change web marketing in the course of work

Unlike other forms of marketing where you create unique content that will be reverberated in the media, with web marketing you can adjust the shot according to market responses and modify your campaign at any time? You’ve noticed that your products appeal more to a certain age target group, no problem! Let’s go get this audience!

5 – Web marketing is measurable and it’s easy to determine the return on your investment

How can you calculate your return on investment if you rely on marketing campaigns such as leafleting? How can you be sure that all the flyers have been delivered by the flyer agent and that your next customers will come into your shop because they have seen your flyers? How can you understand if the TV advertising campaign you have spent huge amounts of money on has actually brought you new customers?

With web marketing you can measure everything. Know how much return has generated every single euro spent and then allocate resources in the best way.

Are you ready to be part of the digital transformation?

What web marketing campaigns exist?

The most common examples of web marketing are SEO, social media management, email-marketing, PPC and content, but they are not the only ones.

Using the internet to connect and engage buyers is a smart move. But where do you start? The options are overwhelming, and few companies throw in all at once. Here’s a brief overview of your options.

Social media marketing

The creation of a company profile and commitment to social media has turned many small businesses into thriving centres of power. As with email marketing, this form of web marketing is inexpensive and getting into it is easy. However, launching posts from time to time without a fixed schedule will not prepare you for exciting success.

Instagram, Linkedin, Facebook are some examples of social media platforms you can work on.

SEO and content marketing

You have probably heard the phrase “the content is king”. Content marketing is exploding as an effective web marketing tool. Companies that publish blogs regularly see four times as much website traffic as companies that don’t.

The reason is simple.

People are looking for answers on the internet. The company that provides answers that are useful, easy to understand and relevant to their questions wins the grand prize of loyalty and trust. In fact, according to a recent survey, 96% of online advertisers say that content marketing is actually effective for their companies.

A steady stream of high-quality, strategically distributed content can double, triple and quadruple a company’s sales! If this seems like the best kind of web marketing for you, then take a look at my SEO consulting service!

Advertising on Google

Every second, 63,000 searches are made on Google. Companies can pay to be at the top of the search, before organic results are returned. Google ads are a valuable part of web marketing because they put your business in front of an audience that is already looking for information about your product or service. They are also cost-effective because you set a budget in advance and only pay for the clicks you receive.

How can I start doing web marketing?

To get off on the right foot you need a plan to get the best possible results.

  1. Set your goal

Why do I want to use web marketing? What is the goal I want to achieve?

Ultimately, the goal of web marketing is to achieve more revenue. This should also be your goal or at least a part of it.

A plan without a goal is a rudderless ship. What are you trying to achieve? Don’t just say “get more sales”. It’s too generic. Dig into what you really want to achieve. Is it to increase your website traffic? Increase your followers on social media? Expand your email database? The better you are at setting your goals, the more likely it is that web marketing will help you achieve and exceed them.

  1. Understand your customer

The relationship with the client is fundamental to define the entire marketing strategy.

Since you are able to target your buyers so precisely through online activities, if you are targeting the wrong consumer, you are likely to fail spectacularly.

Devote time to developing your character as a buyer. Identify the topics they would be interested in and use them as a basis for your marketing.

  1. Choose your tools

There are many choices to be made when starting with web marketing. Think about your customer, the time you can dedicate to your online marketing initiative and your budget.

Choose the avenues that you can spend a lot of time on so that they can be developed and cultivated appropriately. Social media publishing, email marketing and content marketing are smart initiatives to start with. The final decision depends on your company and your specific objectives.

  1. Create your message

Your branding message must be consistent and succinct to build recognition and loyalty. Decide what you want your clues to remember about you and then share the message through the channels you choose to use. Avoid the temptation to go astray with other messages that do not fit your original brand.

  1. Organise and engage

Decide who will manage your web marketing efforts. Choose someone who will manage your online promotions. This may be the time to consider hiring an agency to do this for you.

Ask them to create and maintain a content calendar showing the ongoing planning of the blog, social media, SEO and other online advertising initiatives. It is essential that the person in charge of these tasks remains focused and diligent in performing them consistently. The lack of strategy and advertising and blogging every time “it gets to this point” will not achieve your goals as easily.

  1. Measure and review

One of the best things about internet marketing is the ability to directly measure ROI. Review the results periodically and see if you are achieving your goals with current efforts. If not, identify what is not working and change it.

If you are killing it, try to understand what in particular is making it such a success. The digestion of the analysis may seem boring, but it is this kind of information that makes future efforts even more prosperous.

Once you understand what web marketing is, it’s time to start running it. Otherwise you will lag behind your competitors and most likely start seeing less ROI from your traditional marketing efforts.
